Now, I think it's my favourite store. Actually - Ikea will always have that title, so 2nd favourite.
It is just as beautiful as I thought and they have so many neat things. I really like that the housewares department isn't filled with items that you would see at hundreds other stores. All of the pieces are really unique and kitschy - and I love kitschy. I could have spent all day just browsing through the bins of knobs and door handles (I think I need to have that octopus one...).

As you can probably already guess, I bought a few things there.
This was the first item that made it into my basket. I'm not sure I would have given it a second glance if I was just walking past it, but Nancy brought me over and told me I had to get it (she also has one).
While sitting on your counter, it appears to be a ceramic version of an old fashioned milk bottle - which is totally cute enough.
But it gets better....
Each piece is a measuring cup!
I love the bright, glossy colours inside of each one.
The second thing I found was this awesome cookbook holder. I love anything to do with old style silverware - especially those hooks made out of forks that are circling the internet/pinterest world right now. I also saw some measuring spoons made to look like old spoons, but I didn't get them and I'm kicking myself now. Shipping is probably too much, so I'll have to make my way to an Anthropolgie store when I'm in Vancouver next. I just read that they opened a huge store.
I've seen these pencils online before, so as soon as I saw them I grabbed them up. Even if they never get used and stay forever on my shelf, they look super cute so it's ok.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I love all things wiener dog (and I have 2 real ones).
I picked up this notepad and another notepad with a cut-out of a weiner dog all the way through each page (can't find it online) - I don't have pictures of the actual items because I was so excited to get them to the office the day after I got home.
I also got a couple of things at Crate and Barrel (who is now shipping to Canada!!!!) - another store I've never been into. It has a lot of nice basic kitchen items. I got some condiments spoons, as well as a nice big bamboo spoon.
Aren't they cute??
My new thing is trying to buy a piece of art on each trip - that way we can fill our walls with things that are meaningful and bring back memories when we look at them, rather than something just bought in a store. Though sometimes that's okay too - I still have a soft spot in my heart for inexpensive Costco art.
These are the few pieces I picked up. All are prints of original artwork. I'm excited to get them framed and pick out spots for each of them.
Links to all of the items, just in case you've fallen in love and need one (or two) of your own:
